Assad joined Greene King in May 2022 as chief communications and sustainability officer. He is responsible for the pub company and brewer’s environmental and social targets, alongside group strategy, internal communications, press and other external stakeholder communications.

After Assad joined Greene King, ‘Environment and Social’ was added as one of the company’s core strategy drivers and he oversees Greene King’s progress towards net zero, including halving greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.

Prior to Greene King, e was group director of corporate affairs and strategy at Currys plc, which included leading its sustainability strategy. His previous experience includes 17 years in investment banking with banks such as Credit Suisse and Citigroup.
