Business leaders networking at the Peach 20/20 Conference

Plan B and Peach 20/20 announce ‘Diversity Champion’ shortlist

Plan B, the mentoring platform designed to accelerate women’s representation on boards, has partnered with Peach 20/20 to launch a Diversity Champion Award – to be presented at the Peach 20/20 Awards dinner on 18 October in London.

The award is designed to acknowledge and recognise an active commitment to creating diverse and inclusive workplaces in the hospitality sector’s most progressive operators. It will spotlight the businesses that are showing real commitment to change and importantly are inspiring others to join them in creating lasting change in the industry.

“Advancing workplace diversity is more important than ever,” said Plan B co-founder Holly Addison. “Hospitality may still be at a relatively early stage of its diversity and inclusion journey but there is real momentum for change as leaders recognise that inclusive cultures create better businesses as well as a more equitable world. This Award is designed to encourage the progress we are seeing whilst acknowledging there is still much to be done.”

Peter Martin co-founder of Peach 20/20 added: “The mindset around D&I is changing but one look at the boardrooms of our industry will tell you the job is far from complete. There is a huge opportunity for our sector to attract both more talent and more customers by transforming our cultures. It may still be a ‘work in progress’ but we want to recognise those businesses making sustained efforts to embed inclusion into their corporate DNA.”

Peach 20/20 and Plan B surveyed their communities and stakeholders to nominate the businesses that have “shown the most commitment to and taken active steps in creating a diverse and inclusive culture right up to board level.”

The shortlisted companies are:

  • Dishoom
  • Gail's
  • Greene King
  • Hawksmoor
  • Mowgli
  • Nando's
  • Revolution Bars
  • The Alchemist

The winner of the Diversity Champion Award will be revealed at the Peach 20/20 Awards dinner which takes place on 18 October at The Roundhouse, London.

The Peach 20/20 Conference and Awards is the definitive gathering of senior executives in the multi-site eating and drinking out-of-home sector. Attendance is by VIP invitation-only.
