Business leaders networking at the Peach 20/20 Conference

01 Jan 2024

Looking outside of your business to support within

As we move into 2024, businesses are looking for any advantages available to counteract the remaining challenges from last year and that may arise in this one. The cost of doing business will remain the key consideration for all senior teams; but whilst being over the detail is important an outside perspective is often as valuable.

That voice often comes from a NED or independent chairperson who is able to offer both specific sector expertise and wider business experience. It is no surprise to us that two Peach 20/20 Award Winners, Caravan & Turtle Bay, benefit from the involvement of NED of the Year, Jane O’Riordan.

Support with long-term strategy, vision and planning is an obvious benefit but also highlighting where improvement can be made across the full breadth of operations not just those driving the bottom line. This is especially true when it comes to issues such as DE&I or sustainability which may not feature as high on the agenda day to day; but are non-negotiables for your customers and teams.

To help the industry understand the benefits of listening to theses individuals COREcruitment commissioned a survey with the collaboration of over one hundred of their NED contacts. This specific survey was aimed at capturing thoughts and opinions on various aspects of non-executive directorship, such as commitment, board effectiveness, recruitment, diversity & inclusion.

The full report can be found here, and is good starting point to discover the skillsets and outlooks that NED’s have to the potential benefit of your organisation.

For more in-depth information the team at COREcruitment have short videos on NED Recruitment and a Case Studies or contact them directly: krishnan@corecruitment.com or emma@corecruitment.com to discover more.
