Boardwalk celebrates graduation of 22 mentees
Among the graduating cohort, two mentees have already secured promotions to board-level positions, underscoring the tangible impact of the programme.
Boardwalk was founded to address the systemic barriers that continue to limit female representation in boardrooms. Its model combines one-to-one mentoring with senior C-suite leaders, structured learning, and industry-wide connection - with the aim of accelerating high-potential women into leadership roles.
The programme is supported by founding partners Access, HaysMac, Prestige and Troika, alongside a wide network of A-list mentors and industry advocates.
While the graduation marks a moment of celebration, Boardwalk emphasises that this is part of a broader, long-term movement for change.
The organisation has simultaneously announced the launch of Programme 2, with 33 mentors already committed. Applications are now open for the next cohort, targeting high-potential women who are approximately one to three years from board-level positions and seeking the support to get there.
The second programme will include:
- 10 one-to-one mentoring sessions with a C-suite leader
- 12 online learning tutorials
- 4 industry networking events
Boardwalk’s founders describe the initiative not simply as a programme, but as a growing movement - one built on collective action across the sector.
Christine Martin, Co-founder of Peach 20/20 and Boardwalk, said: “We’re incredibly proud of what this cohort has achieved - not just in completing the programme, but in the confidence, clarity and momentum they’ve built towards board-level roles. At the same time, we are very clear that this is just the beginning. Creating gender equity on boards requires sustained, systemic change, and that’s what Boardwalk is here to support.”
Ann Elliott, Portfolio NED and Co-founder of Boardwalk added: “What’s been incredibly powerful is the level of commitment from across the sector - mentors, partners and advocates coming together with a shared purpose. We see Boardwalk as more than a programme; it’s a platform for change, and we’re humbled by the support behind it.”
Shereen Ritchie, Group CEO Kuvi Hospitality and Co-founder of Boardwalk, said: “The demand we’re seeing for Programme 2 reflects both the scale of the opportunity and the work still to be done. There is no single solution to achieving gender equity at board level, but by connecting exceptional talent with experienced leaders, we can accelerate progress in a meaningful way.”
Boardwalk is now inviting applications for its next cohort and encouraging operators across the hospitality sector to invest in the development of future female board leaders.
